The season is over for the legendary Gastown Football Club. They came up against a determined 13th Legion F.C. on Friday evening. In an extremely physical hard fought encounter, Gastown F.C. were let down by some poor defending and a lack of creativity. They went in down 2-0 at the half but bounced back thanks to a wonderstrike from Keller. They had a chance to equalize late on but it wasn't to be. They'll now re-group for a couple of weeks before commencing their summer season.

A lesson from the Whitecaps.

I had never seen this before, and I don't know how many others have (or maybe its Canadian folklore). Willie Jonhston playing for The Whitecaps back in the old NASL days puts the Vancouver side 1-0 up, despite being down to 10 men. Then, prior to whipping in a corner for the second goal, he takes a swig from a fans beer. While I am not normally one to condone laddish behaviour / alcoholism - this is just too good. Willie Johnston, we salute you.
